Welcome to The Community Closet
No student should have to worry about clothing or essentials just to feel comfortable at school. Our mission is to remove that stress so students can focus on their education and their future.
We have grown into a highly selective team of 10 high-commitment members, chosen from over 250 applicants; an acceptance rate under 4%. Each member plays a clear role within our structure, handling outreach, branding, donations, and event coordination, to ensure that everything we do is organized, efficient, and sustainable. Together, we are currently under review for nonprofit status, and while we are entirely student-run, we are driven by a vision far larger than ourselves.
Why It Matters
When basic needs are unmet, learning suffers. A warm jacket, reliable shoes, or a backpack can give a student the confidence they need to succeed. What seems small can be life-changing in the right moment.
How You Can Help
Donate directly through our MSB link in the “Donate” tab
Donate new or gently used clothing to either the PAC Cafe or room G-19 at Menlo-Atherton High School
Volunteer at drives and events to help expand our reach
Every contribution helps Bay Area students show up prepared and ready to succeed, one less worry at a time.
As we prepare to launch the official Community Closet App on April 1st 2026, we will no longer be accepting clothing donations after March 13. This transition allows us to organize inventory, streamline operations, and shift to our new app-based exchange system to better serve students moving forward.
