The loop

How it works

Three steps, all in the app. The whole loop runs on campus, so there is nothing to ship and nothing to pay.

  1. List what you are not wearing

    Photograph the front, the back, and the label. Add a size and a category. Your listing goes live to students at your school once it clears review.

  2. Claim what you need

    Browse everything available at your school and claim it. It is held for you at no cost. You earn Buttons for keeping good pieces in circulation.

  3. Pick it up at the booth

    We message you the booth date and location, then text you on the day. Walk up, say your name, and take it home.

The point

Why we do this

Small things shape how a student shows up. A jacket that fits, shoes that are not falling apart, a backpack that closes. That is the difference between a student who is thinking about class and one who is thinking about what everyone else notices.

The Community Closet began at Menlo-Atherton High School in 2024 and is now opening its first chapters at other schools. Every closet is run by students at that school, because they know what their campus actually needs.
